Mastering
Once your songs have been mixed, the individual mixes of each song are compiled to create the production master for manufacturing. This is the process of mastering, where we apply the final touches to your work.
We enhance your product to be competitive in fullness with other commercially released material. We also check for consistency and make sure your music translates properly to different listening environments, such as little boom boxes to car stereos and home systems.
At Cherry Beach Sound we have the experience, the environment, and the equipment necessary to do this critical job properly. If your music is important to you, then mastering anywhere other than a professional studio is not an option.
To make your product the best it can be, Cherry Beach Sound uses the latest digital technology, with our Pro Tools HD system, Apogee converters, and world class analog outboard gear such as Manley, Neve, and Focusrite.
Stems and Versions
For added flexibility in the mastering session, clients sometimes bring multiple versions of their mixed songs to be mastered, for example vocal up or vocal down versions. To have even more options and control, we can master from stems. Working from separate stereo mixes of drums, bass, vocals, and other instruments that combine to recreate the whole song, we can make adjustments that wouldn't otherwise be possible in the mastering stage.
