Rihanna
TORONTO, August, 2010 -- Toronto based recording studio Cherry Beach Sound recently hosted recording artist, songwriter and model Rihanna, and Def Jam to the facility to work on upcoming singles, slated for release shortly. Also attending the session was her engineer/producers Miles Walker and Marcos Tovar. Studio staff Inaam Haq, Dane Liska and Brad Shea worked hard to make sure to make sure that everyone was happy.
Rihanna has achieved seven number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 since first appearing on the chart on June 11, 2005, which is the most by any artist during that time span. As of July 23, 2010, Rihanna has sold approximately 5,563,000 album units in the US. She has received several accolades, including the 2007 World Music Awards for World's Best-Selling Pop Female Artist and Female Entertainer of the Year, as well as the 2008 American Music Awards for Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist and Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist.

Farahri

We happily welcomed singer/songwriter, Farahri to our studio for the production of one of her up and coming releases, “Favourite Day.” In the studio she worked alongside Cherry Beach Sound producers Lance Anderson and Andrew “Triple A” Andriyashev .
Farahri began singing at the tender age of only 5, with a religious choir group. This reinforced her desire and passion to become a professional singer. As a young teenager, Farahri began to perform throughout Canada as well as Austria, United States, and Dubai. Her musical style is a combination of different genres such as pop, R&B, rock, jazz, Indian pop, soca and reggae dance hall.
Farahri will be performing with reggae pop artist, Fire Lion at this year's Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay, Jamaica, on Saturday, July 24, 2010.

We were happy to welcome international recording artist, Zuri Star to the studio where she recorded and mixed material for her up and coming album.
Also attending the session was multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and mixer Mike K. Based in Los Angeles and Nashville, Mike currently has 3 songs on American Idol David Archuleta's hit self titled release. Mike wrote and produced David Archuleta's top 40 single “A Little Too Not Over You” as well as “Somebody Out There” and “Zero Gravity”. Mike has also recorded with chart-topping artists such as David Archuleta, Robbie Nevil, Nelly Furtado, Natasha Beddingfield, Aly and AJ, Hayden Panettiere among others.
TGS (The Glowsticks) – “Mars Landed” in Cherry Beach

Cherry Beach Sound was honored to host – Pop music duo TGS (The Glowsticks), with the most distinctive sound you won't find anywhere else. Their music, described as a fusion of House, Rock and Pop, already has TGS creating a buzz for themselves on the European music scene commanding shows in the Czech Republic and surrounding European countries.
Group members A-CE and Verse-Atile, along with their management team After-10 Management (Terrell G and Jonathan Ru) had the pleasure of recording and mixing TGS's debut album “Mar's Landing” right here with us at Cherry Beach Sound Studio.
“Mar's Landing” is expected to have 10 songs, all professionally recorded and mixed right here within our facility with the utmost attention to quality and perfection. TGS (A-CE and Verse-Atile) are songwriters/producers with several placements accredited to them. They began their music career here in Toronto, ON primarily writing and producing records for major artists world–wide.
Now with their own music and album due to be released shortly, we wish the duo the utmost success and best of luck with their new journey. The first single for “Mar's Landing”, titled Feel Good, is set to be released on ITunes in August 2010.

We were excited to welcome back our friend and talented artist, REFLECT to the facility where we finished up another track for his up and coming album For Those Who Wait to be released on August 1st.
Toronto, ON. – June 2010 – Toronto based recording studio Cherry Beach Sound recently hosted rapper, songwriter, and television sensation Drake and Young Money Entertainment in the studio to work on his upcoming project. Also attending the session was his engineer/producer Noah “40” Shebib.
Drake received two Grammy nominations this year for Best Rap Song: “Best I Ever Had” and Best Rap Solo Performance: “Best I Ever Had.” He also took home two Juno's at the 2010 Juno Awards for Best New Artist and Rap Recording of The Year for his debut album, So Far Gone , which was released in September 2009, and was written and recorded at Cherry Beach Sound. Just before signing his first record deal, Cherry Beach Sound hosted Drake on multiple occasions to record the demo that eventually signed him to Young Money Entertainment. Drake is t he second artist to have his first two singles reach the top ten on Billboard 's Hot 100 within the same week . After debuting at #6 on the Billboard 200, So Far Gone became the highest charting EP in the United States by a Canadian rapper.
Universal Motown, distributor of Thank Me Later , recently announced that Drake will be releasing his upcoming album, Thank Me Later this June, which features collaborations with artists such as Lil Wayne, K-OS, Kanye West, The Dream, Danny! and Jay-Z.

This month we welcomed actor, singer-song writer, and New Kids on the Block front man, Jordan Knight to the facility to work on an up and coming project. Joining Jordan was singer-songwriter and music producer, Nasri Atweh.
Nasri is part of the production duo The Messengers , and has crafted songs for notable artists such as, Michael Bolton, Jojo, Mario, Enrique Iglesias, Vanessa Hudgens, and the No Angels.

This month we welcomed singer, songwriter, and producer Ilana Tarutina to the studio for the mastering of one of her upcoming projects.
At a young age, Ilana encompassed a strong passion for music. She began singing and writing her own songs at the age of 12 and by the age of 16 she was producing her own material. Ilana has built a strong repertoire of both hip-hop and R&B songs that have immense commercial appeal utilizing extremely hooky styles.

Steve Foster

We welcomed Montreal based euro-pop artist, Steeve Foster to the studio for the recording and production of one of his up and coming releases.
At the young age of 6, Steeve knew he wanted to become a singer/performer. He started off by writing his own songs and later began to create his own beats. Over the past few years, Steeve has performed throughout Montreal and has gained much in the French community. After promoting his music through MySpace, his fan base grew, pushing him to the number 2 spot in the top 100 MySpace Music “unsigned artist” category in 2009.

We were happy to welcome back Toronto rap artist Brendan aka “The BeaMer” to our studio for the production of his new release Just to Let You Know , where he worked together with one of our producers, Andrew "Triple A" Andriyashev. “This song is about what I want to do in life based on the obstacles I've had to face in my life,” said Brendan.
Over the past three years, Brendan developed a passion for writing music. His songs give the listener something to think about. He steers away from the typical rap songs about violence, drugs and money; instead his lyrics speak about life and the struggles that he has experienced and continues to deal with. As a young rapper, Brendan wants his lyrics to speak to the hearts of young people who feel like him and may be going through similar experiences and help them cope.

This month we welcomed Kitchener hip hop artist Sparkz to our studio for the production of his latest release Demoralizing . During the pre and post production of his most recent project, Sparkz worked alongside Cherry Beach Sound producer, Andrew “Triple A” Andriyashev.
Sparkz truly believes in utilizing the skill that he was blessed with to his greatest ability. His lyrics speak about the everyday grind, life, learning experiences and inspiration, which truly reflect his positive and humble attitude. Sparkz expressed that coming from a small town is not always easy as a hip hop artist and he continues to stay determined and never let his dream fail. “I want to inspire others who may be out there, wanting to emcee. I want to show others that you can have dreams even coming from a small town,” said Sparkz. Sparkz has emceed as an opening act at several local Kitchener shows for other local artists and plans to expand into the Toronto local scene.

Congratulations to our friend /artist DY, and the CP Records crew on the successful release of the new “Passenger” music video directed by Matthew Schilling. Passenger has already received massive air play and has established DY as one of Canada's premier modern recording artists and performers. Passenger was recorded and mixed at our facility in March.
We were excited to welcome back our friend and talented artist, REFLECT to the facility where we finished up another track for his up and coming album For Those Who Wait to be released later this year. Spring Music Festival

Cherry Beach Sound is proud to be sponsoring this year's Spring Music Festival and Breakout Band Challenge . The staff at Cherry Beach Sound took part in the Breakout Band Challenge, judging numerous bands that performed and competed against one another in hopes of making it to the finals.
The Spring Music Festival is a celebration of music that showcases both established and independent bands from North America. The Breakout Band Challenge will award one band $20,000 in prizes and be crowned the festival's “Breakout Band”.
This month we welcomed the crew at "Professional Audio Design" from Boston to the facility for a complete overhaul of our SSL console in " "Studio A" ", and for the installation of a brand new Digidesign ICON D-Control console for " "Studio B" "!
This month-long process involved removing each of the 56 module strips from the SSL console for cleaning and rebuilding. The center monitoring section was also rebuilt. "We always have our studio technicians on call", commented Carman Guerrieri, President of Cherry Beach Sound. "Proper maintenance doesn't just occur when something goes wrong, we service our gear whenever we have downtime. Technical support is very important to us. It assures our customers that they are receiving the best product, and differentiates us from the rest."
Our new ICON is the state-of-the-art digital console that has quickly become the top choice of professional music studios and post-production facilities around the world. It replaces the original Sony MPX analogue console that has serviced our needs for over 25 years. We are excited about the upgrade and are anxious to put it to work!

We welcomed Canadian aboriginal rock artist Shawnee Lynne Talbot to our studio for the production, recording, and mixing of her song, "Her Secret." During her sessions at Cherry Beach Sound, we helped Shawnee with the composition, arrangement, and writing of her song before the initial recording.
Shawnee is a strong, dynamic female artist, ready to take on the world with her fun and energetic personality, message and playful music. Her voice is soulful and edgy, mixed with a sound of blues. She began writing music at the tender age of six and has toured throughout northern Ontario and opening for rock legends such as April Wine.

This month we welcomed Persian singer Asareh to our studio for the recording of her third album, which is expected to be released late this year.
Asareh is a Persian classical singer with a rich, operatic soprano voice. She enjoys singing songs that express profound themes such love, loss or transcendence drawn from a diversity of Persian musical traditions. "This is my second Persian album that I have recorded at Cherry Beach Sound and I am very happy to be working in a very professional environment with nice people in this studio."

Zolo

We were happy to welcome OnTime Music Group/Universal Music recording artist "Zolo" to the facility where he recorded, mixed, and mastered a number of new tracks.
Zolo was born in London, England, and at the tender age of six, he then moved to Brooklyn, New York and within his mid-teen years he relocated to Toronto, Canada. Zolo took a strong interest in pop music culture, with influences from artists such as Justin Timberlake. MGMT, Lady Gaga, Kanye West and Kid Cudie. He has created a unique, fresh, cocky sound that is like no other. Through all his trials and tribulations, Zolo was introduced to Kurt Gentles CEO of On Time Music Group. Zolo's first single "XOXO" has been released to the UK radio waves with a new sound and a single release date set for MARCH 1, 2010.
This past week we welcomed "Nasty North Records" to our studio. Building on the buzz generated from their well-received mixtape 'Music & Me', they're currently recording artist Caliph's full-length debut album, 'The Resignation'.
Nasty North Records is an independent Toronto-based record label founded by Chris Kukurudza with friends Travis 'Caliph' Gairy and Michael Harris.
Equally capable singing or rapping, Caliph's clever lyricism and insightful subject matter encompasses a variety of themes drawn from his own life. Production credits are handled by a mixture of industry names including; M-Phazes, Izzy the Kid, Analogic, Auditory, and Boonie Mayfield.

This past week we welcomed "Little Foot Long Foot" to our facility for a recording session. Little Foot Long Foot is an indie-rock/country band based out of Toronto, Ontario. The band consists of front-woman Joan Smith, and Drummer Isaac Klein.
The band took part in Steam Whistle Brewing's ""Unsigned" Indie Music Series" at the Roundhouse, sponsored by Cherry Beach Sound. Cherry Beach Sound is happy to announce the long awaited sophomore album from Last Gang Records electro/house band, Let's Go To War titled Karmageddon. We are honored to have been a part of the album.
Let's Go To War's sound is a cross between hip hop, dance-hall, electro, and pop. Alongside writing and producing their own music, PJ aka Jet Brown, DJ Cirkut, and Sonny G have written and produced songs for well established artists such as Britney Spears, D.O.E., and Fefe Dobson. The threesome have also remixed songs for artists Jully Black, Black & Lace, Fritz Helder & The Phantoms, Hilary Duff, and The Carps.

The Jonas Brothers

We welcomed American pop boy band The Jonas Brothers to the studio, to record a few songs while they were in town filming Disney's Camp Rock 2 "The Final Jam" the most awaited sequel of "Camp Rock" which made its debut on the 2nd quarter of 2008.
The sessions were the second time the Brothers visited Cherry Beach Sound, the first being in 2008 while shooting their first Camp Rock Film.
Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam is set to be aired in 2010.

This month we welcome hip-hop artist DY to the studio for the recording and mixing of his upcoming debut album.
DY is currently signed to Canadian independent record label CP Records. Since their start in 2002, CP Records has developed the careers of several Canadian hip-hop and R&B artists such as platinum selling artist Massari, Juno-award winning rapper Belly, and gold selling R&B sensation Danny Fernandes.

Also in attendance was Canadian television personality "Matte Babel" who was a former MuchMusic VJ and currently hosts CP24’s morning show CP24 Breakfast.
Jazzmine Raine

HITSDUO Entertainment's seventeen-year-old singing and song writing prodigy Jazzmine Raine has already used her talents to benefit various non-profit agencies. On Wednesday, September 9, 2009, she will continue that challenge as she joins Eliana Cuevas for a concert benefiting the Access Education Guatemalan Children's Fund. Jazzmine Raine will be performing 2 singles recorded here at Cherry Beach Sound Studio earlier this year.
The concert will begin at 7:00 pm at the Lula Lounge and will be followed by a silent auction at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $28 and may be purchased at the door or through the Access Education website at www.accesseducationpresents.eventbrite.com.

Singer Angela Zheng joined us in the studio this month for the recording and mixing of her new album, I Stand Here For Love.
Angela Zheng’s music includes the work of many various well-known conductors and orchestras. Her sound is a soft combination of classical Chinese, pop, and opera. Over the years, she has performed throughout China and South-east Asia and has judged many international music competitions. In 1992, she was selected as the lead singer for the Chinese opera, ballet White Hair Girl. On September 19, 2009, Angela will be performing at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts for the charity concert, I Stand Here For Love.

This past week we welcomed "Ministry of the Environment" to our studio for a recording session. Ministry of the Environment is an indie-pop/rock band based out of Toronto, Ontario. The band consists of Rory Lindsay (Guitarist), Tristan Smuk (Bassist), Andrew McMullen (Drummer), and Liana Rose (Vocalist). The foursome recently released their second EP, titled, Your Name, Your Street, Your City.
This past May, Ministry of the Environment took part in Steam Whistle Brewing’s "UNSIGNED Indie Music Series" at the Roundhouse, sponsored by Cherry Beach Sound. We will be sponsoring the next Unsigned event on Septermber 18th 2009!
Shawn Desman

We recently hosted, Canadian R&B singer/songwriter "Shawn Desman" to the studio to work on his much anticipated album. Attending the session alongside Shawn was production team "Stargate".
Over the past twelve years, Norwegian record producing and songwriting team Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriksen (Stargate) have worked with various pop, R&B, and hip hop artists such as Beyonce Knowles, Lionel Richie, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Shakira, and Jordan Sparks. This year the production duo won the 2009 ASCAP Pop Songwriters of the Year Award and in 2006 and 2008 the #1 Producers of the Year on the Billboard Hot 100.
From the start of his self- titled album released in the fall of 2002, Shawn Desman has experienced great success. The album featured three top ten singles (Shook, Spread My Wings and Get Ready) on the Canadian charts. His sophomore release Back for More featured a team of amazing producers such as Rodney Jerkins (Destinys Child, Michael Jackson), Tricky Stewart from RedZone (Britney Spears, B2K) and Perry Alexander (Keshia Chanté, In Essence). Shawn is currently working on his junior release with producers/songwriters Christopher Stewart, Scott Storch, The Clutch and Stargate. The new album is said to bring about a new sound and a new Shawn Desman; something that he is happy about and looking forward to sharing with his fans.

This month we welcomed "RDB" to our studio for the mixing and mastering of several tracks. RDB is a production team of musicians, singers, and producers based out of Bradford, England consisting of three brothers Kuly, Manj, and Surj. The brothers are best known for constructing the "RDB sound" (Rhythm, Dhol, Bass). Their music combines traditional Punjabi beats and vocals with western hip hop and different street genres of music.
RDB has had the privilege of performing alongside some of the leading names in Bollywood ; Amitabh and Abhiskek Bachchan, Askashay Kumar, and Aishwarya Rai. In addition they have also worked with some of the biggest names in American hip hop such as Public Enemy and Snoop Dogg.
In over a decade the group has toured around the world (South America, Canada, UK, German, Norway, New Zealand, Philippines, Dubia, India, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Kenya, and Pakistan), selling millions of hits and becoming the first artists in the history of music to collaborate bollywood and US hip hop together.

We recently hosted, singer/songwriter Keri Hilson to the studio to record two exciting new tracks. The first is a track for Sean Paul's upcoming album, Imperial Blaze. The second is a track produced by Timbaland featuring Jay Z. Engineering the session was Detroit based engineer/producer Mike Chav.
Over the past few years Mike Chav has built his roster of clientele, working with some of the biggest names in hip hop to date such as Eminem, Method Man, The Game, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Jay Electronica, and alongside producers Dr. Dre and Denaun Porter. During 2006 and 2007, Mike played a big part in the production and engineering of Erykah Badu's fifth studio album New Amerykah Part One (4th World War), released in February 2008.
As a member of an admired songwriting team known as The Clutch, Keri Hilson has set the stage for herself, penning for artists such as Britney Spears, Ludacris, Mary J.Blige, Omarion, Usher, the Pussycat Dolls and Ciara. Her infamous vocal arrangements have been featured on Britney Spears' Blackout, Timbaland's Shock Value, Asher Roth's Asleep in the Bread Aisle, and Xzibit's Weapons of Mass Destruction.
With three years in production, Keri's debut album In a Perfect World was released on March 24, 2009. The album's fourth single Knock You Down featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo has become the most successful, topping the charts at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on Billboard Radio Songs.
New Drake Album

Toronto based recording studio Cherry Beach Sound recently hosted Toronto rapper, songwriter, and television sensation Drake in studio for over 2 weeks to work on his much anticipated debut album. Attending the sessions alongside Drake were engineer/producer Noah "40" Shebib and Canadian hip-hop producer Boi-1da.
The second artist to have his first two singles reach top ten on Billboard's Hot 100 in the same week, recording artist Drake is best known for his role as Jimmy Brooks on CTV's Degrassi: The Next Generation. He has worked with and written songs for artists such as Kanye West, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Jamie Foxx, Mary J. Blige, Robin Thicke, and Lil Wayne.
"Drake is clearly making a name for himself," said Carman Guerrieri, president and owner of Cherry Beach Sound. "We're thrilled to have had Drake in our studio, bringing down the house with his team. I've watched Drake's career take off from his initial stages in Degrassi to becoming one of North America's hottest artists. We wish him the greatest success and look forward to his upcoming album."
Drake's debut album, Thank Me Later, is slated for release late this year. The album will feature the works of Roc-A-Fella's own Jay-Z, Drake's mentor Lil Wayne, rapper/producer Kanye West, and Boyz N Da Hood's Young Jeezy.
This week we happily welcomed Kidstreet to our studio for a mixing session. Kidstreet is an Electro-Pop band based out of Waterloo, Ontario. The band consists of three siblings, Cliff, Karl, and Edna Snyder.
This past May, Kidstreet took part in Steam Whistle Brewing's UNSIGNED Music Event at the Roundhouse, sponsored by Cherry Beach Sound.
This past week, in celebration of their fifth anniversary, we welcomed our neighbors at Trew Audio to our studios to host a "Sound for Picture" Workflow seminar. Several guest speakers included Glen Trew, Sound Mixer and President of Trew Audio; Charlie Parra of Denecke Slates; Julian Daboll of Technicolor; Glenn Sanders, Founder and President of Zaxcom; and Jack Mosor of PS Production Services. During the seminar speakers demonstrated equipment, services, and discussed issues relating to sound for picture from the beginnings of production through to post-production.
In continuation of their fifth anniversary celebration, Trew Audio hosted a Yard Sale and Sound Social. The event featured items from Trew Audio's inventory as well as other audio equipment vendors. This allowed many people to buy, sell, trade, and barter for new, used, and vintage audio equipment.
This week we welcomed back Pickering based, 20 Amp Soundchild to the studio. The band members returned to Cherry Beach Sound for the recording and mixing of several additional songs for their debut album. The guys have been working very hard on their new album and continue to tour throughout the GTA and Durham

This week we welcomed back Toronto rapper/actor Drake to our facility for the recording of several tracks for his upcoming album project, Thank Me Later. One of the tracks included a song Drake wrote for American rapper Young Jeezy. Also in the studio with Drake was his engineer, producer, and production manager Noah "40" Shebib. "40" has worked with Drake on his February 2009 released mixtape, So Far Gone, which received 8,000 downloads within its first two hours of release.
Noah "40" Shebib is known as one of Canada's best hip hop and RnB engineers/producers. He has worked with artists such as Divine Brown, Saukrates, K-OS, Fefe Dobson, Drake, JDiggz, Nelly Furtado, Billy Talent, Fito Blanko, Trey Songz, Nate Dogg, George Nozuka, Little Brother, and many more.
This week we happily welcomed Juno Award winner and A&M/Octone Records recording artist K'NAAN to the facility for the recording of several songs.
K'NAAN is a Somali-Canadian rapper, musician, writer, and poet. K'NAAN's music is a direct reflection of his Somalia background and political views. His lyrics speak about the harsh situations facing Somalia and his calling to end the violence. In 2006, K'NAAN won the Juno Award for Rap Recording of the Year. His song, "ABC's", off his newly released studio album Troubadour has been featured on the video game Madden NFL 09. K'NAAN has worked with several artists such as Nelly Furtado, The Roots, Mos Def, Dead Prez , Damian Marley, MetallicaÌs Kirk Hammett, and many more.

This week we welcomed artist, writer, and producer Evren to the facility for the mixing and mastering of songs for his current project.
Evren began writing at the young age of thirteen. Since then he has earned his success by writing and producing music for national advertising campaigns for companies such as Toyota and TELUS. He has also crafted original music for television shows such as Degrassi- The Next Generation, Instant Star, The Best Years, and Billable Hours, as well as many more.
This month we are welcoming back Universal recording artist Jhevon Paris to our studio for the recording, mixing and mastering of his new album project, "The Naked Truth", which is scheduled for release later this year. The Naked Truth is a direct reflection of Jhevon's life - good and bad.
Jhevon is an accomplished writer, producer, model, actor, interior designer, and CEO of his own label, Hits Unlimited. Check out Jhevon's myspace.
We were happy to host renowned Aboriginal painter, Leland Bell. Leland came to us for the mixing and mastering of original songs he has written based on a dream he had.
Leland Bell is an Anishinabe from the Wikwemikong Unceded First Nation on Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada. As a professional painter and art instructor with over twenty-five years of experience, Leland's paintings have been on exhibit throughout North America and Europe.
We were happy to host Music Marketing and Earthworks Precision Audio, for an informative workshop which introduced the new Earthworks line of high definition microphones.
The group of industry professionals and educators listened to monster drum sounds created with just 3 Earthworks microphones, captured a Grand Piano with the Earthworks piano microphone system, and watched as the energy and essence of a vocalist was flawlessly recorded. Earthworks specialist Michael Hurwitz was on hand to answer any questions the group had.

We were honored to have world music sensation, Darya Dadvar at the facility where we recorded and mixed music for her up and coming album. On March 7th 2009 Darya performed for a sold out audience at the Toronto Center for the Arts. This was the second successful performance in her 2009 Canadian Concert Tour.
Originally an opera singer, Darya grew up in an artistic environment in Iran. Her mother is a singer and director of Marionette theatre.
In 1999, Darya obtained her "Diplome d'Etude Musicale" (Gold Medal) in voice. She finished her musical education in National Conservatory of Toulouse/France in the year 2000 and obtained a first class as well as a Diploma of professional cycle in Baroque Style. Darya has also a Master Degree in Art at "Ecole des Beaux-Arts" of Toulouse/France.
Since 2001 she has resided in Paris, engaged in a successful career as a soprano, attracting listeners from around the world. Her concerts are heavily attended.
Darya creates her own music by combining traditional music of Iran and European classical singing. Her unique talent in arranging Iranian music with some Jazz and Blues elements, places her among top "World Music" Artists.

We welcomed Akriti Jain to facility to mix the audio for her independent short film “Two Months Ago”.
She shared some information about herself while with us. “This is the first film I've written, directed and produced by myself. I have done other projects in which I have worked in different capacities, such as co-writer/co-director, assistant director, post-production coordinator, etc. I've been working in the film industry for about a year now and am currently writing my next short film. I went to University of Waterloo and graduated with a BA in Political Science. While I did do some film studies and filmmaking courses while I was there, I've learned most of what I know about filmmaking on my own.”
The film can be viewed on The University of Waterloo, Film Creator's Club Website. Be warned that the subject of the film is not for the faint of heart. There is uncomfortable subject matter and strong language.

This week we welcomed "Acoustiguide" and Joan Crosbie, Curator for "Casa Loma" to the facility. We recorded audio for a digital multimedia tour, currently being developed for the famous Toronto landmark.
Casa Loma (Spanish for Hill House) is a museum and landmark in uptown Toronto, constructed in the Gothic Revival style. It was originally a residence for financier Sir Henry Mill Pellatt. Casa Loma was constructed over a three-year period from 1911-1914.

This week "Arclight Creative" joined us in the studio for the recording of promotional spots for The Canadian Cancer Society "Driven To Quit Challenge", challenging smokers to quit their habit by January 1, 2010 and register to win prizes. The promotional spot will be seen and heard this holiday season throughout Cineplex theatres nationwide.
The program is open to recent university grads and students. Interns carry out on-site stewardship tasks at some of NCC's 2,000 properties across the country. We welcomed actress Angela Asher and Sound Venture Productions to the facility this week to record ADR for ABC/CBC's new TV series 18 TO LIFE.
18 TO LIFE is a domestic comedy about a couple that does the unthinkable: they get married at the tender age of 18. Their parents-next-door neighbors and polar opposites-are less than thrilled, and even their peers disapprove. What gives the series its heart is that young Tom and Jessie truly love each other. They're the right couple…at the wrong time.

We were happy to welcome back our friends from Hobo Audio in New York City. We recorded spots for Verizon's new "Fios Widget Bazaar". The radio commercials will be airing nationally in the United States.
Subscribers to Verizon's fiber optic Internet and cable service, FiOS, now have access to the Widget Bazaar, which lets them check out Twitter apps and log onto Facebook right on their TVs. The Twitter app remains on the screen as a vertical ticker, even when users are watching TV.

This week we welcomed CTV in our studio and facility to shoot an episode for Canadian television series "Forensic Factor", which airs on Discovery Channel Canada and Sun TV.
Forensic Factor takes factual crimes and shows the secrets used by some of the world's best detectives in solving the most crucial crimes. The show re-enacts the incidents and firsthand accounts from experts who provide depth and insight to the investigation.
The Bridge

We were happy to welcome back "The Eggplant Collective" to the facility. We recorded music for the upcoming police drama TV show, "The Bridge" commissioned by CTV and CBS. The Bridge is about the struggle of street cops who battle criminals, as well as their own bosses.
The Eggplant is a worldwide collective specializing in original music composition, music supervision and licensing, sound design, voice direction, and radio.
Delphi Films

This week we happily welcomed German production company, "Delphi Filmverleih GmbH" to our studio. During the session we recorded ADR for the upcoming German film "Same Same But Different", which was featured at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
Same Same But Different is directed by Detlev Buck and is based on a novel written by Benjamin Prüfer. The film tells of a unique love story between two young people from two different countries (Germany and Cambodia) who try to defeat the odds and remain together.
The Boys in the Photograph, is set in Belfast, Northern Ireland between 1969 and 1972. The musical tells of a story about young men and women who are involved in a local soccer team and living in a city dominated by violence and hatred during the beginning of a 30-year civil war.
The production will be held at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto from September 22 – November 1, 2009.

This week we welcomed back "Arclight Creative" to our studio for the audio recording and production of a corporate presentation for Merial.
Merial is a world-leading animal health company, producing pharmaceutical products and vaccines to enhance the health, well-being and performance of livestock, pets and wildlife. Merial employs approximately 5,000 people worldwide and operates in more than 150 countries.
Defying Gravity

This week we welcomed back Defying Gravity to host an ADR session. During the session we recorded ADR for the upcoming ABC Sci-Fi TV show with actress Karen LeBlanc. LeBlanc plays Eve Shaw, a scientist on board the Antares.
Karen LeBlanc’s television credits include Trailer Park Boys, This is Wonderland, US hit series Soul Food, Playmakers, and Runaway.

This week we welcomed back our friends from "The Daisy Consulting Group" to our studio for the recording of a series of radio spots for Bruce Power.
"Bruce Power" is Canada’s first private nuclear generating company partnered with several corporations such as Trans Canada, Cameco, BPC Generation Infrastructure Trust, the Power Workers Union, and The Society of Energy Professionals. With the largest nuclear facility in North America and presently the largest operational nuclear facility in the world, Bruce Power supplies more than 20% of Ontario’s electricity.

We welcomed actor Dylan Taylor to the facility this week for the recording of ADR for an upcoming ABC Sci-Fi TV show
Toronto native Dylan Taylor portrays a theoretical physicist named Steve Wassenfleder. Over the past few years, Dylan has worked in various film and TV episodes such as House Party, The Incredible Hulk, and Murdoch Mysteries.
Defying Gravity comes from producers James Parriott (Grey's Anatomy) and Michael Edelstein. The show is based in the near future in which eight astronauts from five different countries take on a six-year international space mission on the spaceship Antares. The show was inspired by Space Odyssey: Voyage to the Planets, a fictional documentary about an expedition through the solar system. Defying Gravity premiers Sunday, August 2nd on ABC.
Actor Noah Danby Records for Upcoming Film Darfur

This week we welcomed actor Noah Danby to our studio for the recording of ADR (Audio Dialogue Replacement) for the upcoming film, Darfur.
Noah Danby is known for his portrayal of Connor King on the science fiction TV series, Painkiller Jane, aired on the Sci-Fi Channel in the United States and on Global TV in Canada. Noah has worked in various films and TV series such as Numb, Smallville, Witchblade, and Exit Wounds.
Directed by German producer/director Uwe Boll, the film is based on the current conflict facing Darfur in Sudan. The film was shot in Cape Town, South Africa with cast members such as Billy Zane, Edward Furlong, and Kristanna Loken.
This week we welcomed our friends from Arclight Creative to our studio for the recording of several theatre promotional spots for Cineplex Odeon.
Cineplex Odeon is owned and operated by Cineplex Entertainment, the largest Canadian movie theatre operator. Cineplex Entertainment controls over 130 locations throughout Canada with brands such as Famous Players, Cineplex Odeon, and Galaxy. Cineplex Odeon is Cineplex EntertainmentÃs largest brand with 53 locations nationwide.
This past month we were happy to have KONTAKT Filmproduction in our studio for the mixing of a documentary film by Adam Bialo, founder of KONTAKT Filmproduction, titled The Price of Freedom: A Solidarity Story. The film is based on a story about Adam's father Krzysztof Bialo who is a former member of the solidarity movement and tried to help Poland gain freedom.
KONTAKT Filmproduction was established in 2002 by founder Adam Bialo. The Toronto based media company focuses on creating commercials, music videos, and films which have been featured on Canadian stations such as MuchMusic, HGTV, and Global.
This week we welcomed back our friends from HOBO Audio in New York City to host a Source Connect session.
During the session, a series of radio commercials were recorded for Verizon's FiOS service. The commercials described the benefits of Verizon FiOSÃ services and their features such as Videos On Demand and Free Wi-Fi.
This week we welcomed back Montreal-based Boogie Studio for the recording of radio spots using the Source Connect platform. The radio spots will soon be aired nationwide.
This past week we welcomed back Apollo Studios and global advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi to our studio for the production of several Tide television commercials. The commercials were recorded in both Canadian and American versions.
With offices in Toronto, Montreal, and Belgium, Apollo Studios is recognized for their artistic capabilities in radio, television, songwriting, advertising, and film.
Saatchi & Saatchi is a world renowned advertising agency with offices in over 80 countries and its worldwide headquarters in Manhattan, New York.
Last week we welcomed politician, Garth Turner to the facility for a corporate video shoot and recording. Mr. Turner addressed the ongoing economic downturn within the United States and Canada as well as the positive aspects of why it is best to invest in oneself and become an entrepreneur.
Garth Turner is a Canadian politician, business journalist, financial commentator, entrepreneur, broadcaster, and best-selling author. He was twice elected as a Member of the House of Commons, former Minster of National Revenue and leadership candidate for the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada. Mr. Turner has become an admired public speaker on financial issues facing Canadians. In one of his most recent books, "After the Crash: How to Guard Your Money in These Turbulent Times," which deals with the financial turmoil facing North America.
This week we were happy to have OMNI Television in our studio for the recording of a series of radio spots. Each radio spot was recorded in a different language, informing listeners on how to fight the N1H1 flu virus.
OMNI Television is a Canadian television system owned and operated by Rogers Communications. It consists of multicultural stations such as CFMT, CJMT, CHNM, and CJCO/CJEO which broadcast in Portuguese, Italian, Cantonese, Mandarin, English, Punjabi, Korean, and Tagalog.
This past week we were happy to welcome the Royal Bank of Canada to our facility for the shooting of a corporate video featuring several RBC executives.
RBC provides personal and commercial banking, wealth management services, insurance, corporate, investment banking and transaction processing services on a global basis. It is the largest financial institution in Canada serving more than seventeen million clients with over 80,000 employees worldwide.
We were happy to welcome our friends at Steam Whistle Brewing to the facility. Over the next few weeks, we will be recording and mixing a series of radio commercials.

We were happy to welcome back "Boogie Studio" in Montreal to record commercials for Subway Sandwiches. This Source-Connect session included the production of several spots which will be aired nationally.
We were happy to welcome back The Ontario Power Authority for the recording and mixing of several radio spots. These spots will be aired on multiple radio stations across the province.
Earlier this week we welcomed author and pediatrician Dr. Diane Sacks and her publicist Deborah Guichelaar to our studio for an interview recording for the national radio show, The Parent Report. The recording was done via phone patch in which Dr. Sacks was interviewed by WM Communications program host, Joanne Wilson. The interview focused on Dr. Sacks book, SCaring For Your Child.
Dr. Diane Sacks is a practicing pediatrician and the past President of the CPS. Dr. Sacks is also an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Toronto School of Medicine. She contributes to a monthly childrenÃs health column to Today's Parent Magazine.
We were happy to host a Source Connect session with Pennsylvania's Creative Sound Studios. The session consisted of a podcast recording with Paul Murray, Site Manager for SNC-Lavalin who spoke about Victaulic and his construction experience using their products while constructing recent projects such as the Portlands Energy Centre.
Victaulic is the world leader in grooved and plain-end mechanical pipe joining systems and has offices, foundries and distribution centers all throughout the globe.
SNC-Lavalin is based in Montreal and is recognized as one of Canada's largest engineering firms as well as one of the ten largest engineering firms in the world. SNC-Lavalin has worked on projects such as the James Bay, Brun-way, William R. Bennett Bridge, and Canada Line, along with several other projects which are due to be completed between 2010 and 2014.
We were happy to welcome back The Adlib Group to the facility where we completed a series of radio commercials for Fine Details.

They have several locations, including Ajax, Barrie, Burlington, Cambridge, Etobicoke, Guelph, Hamilton, Kitchener, London, Markham, Mississauga, Newmarket, North York, Oakville, Peterborough, Richmond Hill, Milton, Waterloo and Woodbridge.
We were excited to welcome back TAXI Advertising and Vapor Music Group. While at the facility we mixed audio for a series of 5.1 surround sound Koodo Mobile commercials which will be played in theaters across Canada.
Here is a great little animation spot that we completed for Keyframe Digital Productions. All of the music, foley, and sound effects were completed at our facility.

We welcomed the team from Ketchum Communications to the facility to host a series of media training workshops. This week we were happy to welcome Vapor Music Group, to produce music for a series of Foodland Ontario Television commercials. The sessions included 18 players consisting of Violin, Viola, Cello, Clarinet, and Accordion.
Foodland Ontario is a long-established consumer promotion program of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. From its inception in 1977, Foodland Ontario has partnered with producers to achieve the maximum penetration of the Ontario market by Ontario-produced fresh and processed agricultural products.
This week we welcomed back Arclight Creative to produce a series of corporate presentations for Frontline flea and tick control. FRONTLINE Brand Products are the #1 recommendation of veterinarians for flea and tick control for dogs and cats.
This past week we welcomed Executive Director, Sean Muir and Producer Ron "OS" of The Healthy Aboriginal Network to our facility. While in the studio we recorded voice-overs along with chanting and drumming with several Ontario Native Aboriginal youth for an up-coming animated video, "On the Turn". On the Turn deals with gambling addiction among Native Aboriginal youth and is one of the many videos created by The Healthy Aboriginal Network.
The Healthy Aboriginal Network is a non-profit network located in Vancouver that promotes health, literacy and wellness. They create comic books and videos based on health and social issues for youth. Within the past year, they have covered topics such as: youth health issues, gambling addiction, staying in school, suicide prevention, and diabetes prevention.
This week we welcomed back "Boogie Studio" and Bell Canada. This Source-Connect session included the production of several radio commercials which will be aired nationally.
Once again we welcomed back HOBO Audio, to host a Source Connect session. We recorded a series of radio commercials for Verizon's new FiOS service. More specifically, the commercials described their new Multi Room DVR system being offered in the United States.
FIOS,
which stands for "Fiber Optic Service, is an Internet, telephone, and
TV service that is presently offered in some areas of the United States
by Verizon. Verizon has attracted consumer and media attention in the
area of broadband Internet access as the first major U.S. carrier to
offer such a service (fiber to the home/premises).
We were happy to welcome back Stephen McHattie and Sound Venture International. Over the last couple of weeks we completed ADR for the up and coming feature film Summer's Blood, which is expected to be "one of the most deranged, shocking and twisted family thrillers ever made…"
This
month we were delighted to have composers and arrangers Micky Erbe and
Maribeth Solomon from Mickymar Productions Ltd. While at our facility
we recorded and mixed music for the IMAX 3D film, Under the Sea 3D.
The film is presently being worked on at Technicolor in Toronto and
will be in IMAX theaters across Canada and the United States this
spring.
