History Made at Cherry Beach
September 16th 2008
It was an honor to host writer Gino Salvadore, and conductor / arrangers Rick Wilkins and Charles Cozens, for a big band recording session containing some of the best musicians in the world. “It is very rare to have a group of such established musicians together in one place, at one time”, commented Carman Guerrieri, President of Cherry Beach Sound Ltd. “It is a privilege for all those that are here to listen.”
The fully orchestrated ensemble featured master musicians Rob Piltch on guitar, Bruce Harvey on Piano, Terry Clarke and Steve Heathcote on percussion, Scott Alexander on Bass, and Vern Dorge on saxophone. The music carried a romantic flavor, and featured a blend of both traditional and more modern influences. One of the centerpieces of the project was the inclusion of accordion solos, which were performed by Joe Macerollo.
Rick Wilkins is widely recognized as one of the country's most accomplished saxophonists, and among the most consummate arrangers and conductors in the world. In 2003, he was awarded both the Order of Canada and the Queen's Jubilee Medal in recognition of his genius over more than five decades on the international music scene.
Charles T. Cozens is one of Canada’s most versatile and multi faceted musicians... with impressive credentials in many parts of the music industry. As Musical Arranger, Charles has written for The Canadian Brass, Quartetto Gelato, Louise Pitre (Mama Mia, Broadway), Michael Burgess (Les Misarables), The Nylons, and Cynthia Dale. As Composer/Orchestrator/Musical Producer, his television credits include Tek Wars, Ray Bradbury Theatre, The Twilight Zone, At the Midnight Hour, Clarence, Christmas in America, The Long Road Home, and Noddy to name a few.

Cherry Beach Turns 25!
June 24th 2008
Recently we hosted our 25th Anniversary Party where we enjoyed the company of over 200 friends, family and clients. We welcomed Michael Filer from Professional Sound Magazine. The article can be found in this month’s issue.
The entire facility was converted for the event, and studio floor served as a jazz lounge where we were delighted to have numerous musicians play until the night was through.
These past 25 years of business have flown by, and we couldn’t have been as successful without our loyal customers and clients. We would like to thank everyone for coming down to enjoy the evening with us, and for many more years of business to come! Many Thanks from the Cherry Beach Family.

A Dream comes true
May 7, 2007

Finn O'hara, one of Kathi Z's top photographers, used our facility for a photo-shoot last week. He dreamt of a striking composition and we provided a space where that dream came to life. Kathi Z used our space in early April for a shoot of Holt Renfrew's new men's fashions. Here's how Finn O'hara describes the experience:
This photo concept came to me in a dream. In it, a young red headed girl appeared in a white dress and red shoes in a very raw, factory space. I have never dreamt of myself working in a photoshoot, but after this vivid dream, I knew I had to make it happen. With the help of Carman and his raw studio space, I was able to make this dream a reality.
