Logic Seminar a Great Success!
January 21st 2009
This
past weekend Cherry Beach School of Music along with Cherry Beach Sound
hosted their first day-long Logic Pro 8 Seminar. It was a great
success, drawing several out of town guests into the classroom in
Cherry Beach Sound’s Control Room A.
The
seminar focused on the introduction and the process of creating,
recording, and editing audio as well as MIDI within Logic Pro 8. This
permitted students to engage in a one-on-one learning experience with
Apple Certified Logic Trainer, Aaron Collier. Aaron is a member of the
award winning Canadian musical act, The Jimmy Swift Band. He has
co-written and co-produced three studio albums as well as a live
recording and has performed score compositions for short films and

The Jimmy Swift Band
January 12th 2009
Introducing "The Jimmy Swift Band",
a fusion of the best in both rock and electronic music. The result is
the creation of something different than anything else, a style
uniquely JSB.
The
JSB are currently touring in support their new Live Concert DVD filmed
at The Marquee Club in Halifax and mixed in 5.1 surround sound by us
here in Toronto at Cherry Beach Sound. Performed in front of JSB's
hometown crowd and captured in Hi-Definition, this DVD brings the
excitement and energy that has become known, loved and expected of the
JSB across Canada. For both projects the band has embraced even further
the electronic elements that have always been a big part of their live
show's popularity while holding strong to their love of dirty rock and
roll - its Daft Punk on Jaggermeister - Iron Maiden on Ecstasy…

the talented musicians of Blues in D recorded with us. The band
consists of five equally great players: Ben McPhee, voice & rhythm
guitar; Tura Wilson, drums; Nick Morris, lead guitar; Cody Ellis, also
lead guitar; and Andrew Zagorevskii, bass.
Blues
in D recorded tracks at our studio to sell at a fundraiser to help stop
youth violence. The event took place this past Sunday at the Tattoo
Rock Parlour in downtown Toronto. Benefiting two great non-profit
organizations, this concert was a prime example of how a community can
be united by one truly important cause. These NPO's were Leave Out
ViolencE (a.k.a. "LOVE") and Do It Now. Both target their efforts
towards the prevention of youth violence in Canada.
Theater of the Mind
November 25th 2008
Today
marks the release of hip hop sensation Ludacris' sixth studio album.
Theater of the Mind was created with a specific concept in mind; that
every song on the album sounds like a scene from a movie. "Co-starring"
on this album are music monsters T-Pain, Sean Garrett, Common, Jay-Z,
Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and many more.
Ludacris
worked on selections for Theater of the Mind at our facility this year.
Accompanied by DJ Premier and Rich Nice, notable tracks were created
with us such as "MVP". A true example of focus, dedication and an
unstoppable talent is in stores now. Cherry Beach Sound is proud to
have been a part of another addition to Ludacris' musical
accomplishments.
Prog Rock Monster
November 10th 2008
Travelling
from New York, Glen Cornett came to us to record guitar overdubs for a
project currently in production. To aid in the progressive rock style
that this album is exuding, Glen called in one of "Iran's guitar
monsters", "Agah Bahari".
Bahari
has been studying music since the age of seven and has performed for
crowds numbered in the thousands. After the performance and production
of his music was banned in his native country, Bahari left Iran
permanently for Toronto. He has worked with some the best of the best
in the progressive rock genre.
Cornett
and Bahari are both very interesting people, with very interesting life
stories. Their musical collaboration on this album will be one to keep
your eye on.
Marcello Tulipano
October 29th 2008
During the past three months, Cherry Beach Sound welcomed singer,
Marcello Tulipano into our studio for the recording, mixing, and
mastering of his debut album entitled, "Marcello". The project was
produced by Lance Armstrong and engineered by Cherry Beach Sound's own
Senior Engineer, Inaam Haq. The album is truly a great reflection of
the music that he passionately loves; embracing several different
styles of music such as big band, contemporary classical, easy
listening, and adult contemporary. "It's fun to explore the different
styles on one record," said Marcello.
"Marcello"
includes a diverse array of musical styles, featuring several
interpretations with ornamental and dynamic differences in songs by
Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Mario Lanza, and Il Divo. One very special
piece that can be heard on the album is, The Hope, a tribute to the
life and triumphs of Cancer activist Terry Fox; composed and arranged
by Producer, Lance Anderson. With this album, Marcello plans to
introduce himself to the world as an artist.

Jhevon Paris
October 27th 2008
Once again, Cherry Beach Sound is honored to have Jhevon Paris in our
studio working on his latest album. Paris has been working very hard on

One of the songs that Paris and Inaam have been working on is called, "Top of da Line," co-written by "Colby O'Donis" and produced by Vanguards; the producers of "Kardinal Offishall's" hit single "Dangerous" featuring Akon.
"Top
of da Line" is all about success. Once you work hard, persevere, and
stay focused, it's all yours. Paris knows all about what success feels
like, as well as what it feels like to have it taken away. On Jhevon's "Myspace page",
he is quoted saying, "It was a struggle to get to where I am today and
with my first album I wanted to show people that success can come to
those who believe it".

October 15th 2008
Cherry Beach Sound was thrilled to welcome Dasol Jeong into our studio
this week. Dasol is a sixteen year old violinist with exceptional
talent and technique. She has been playing since the age of three and
has studied under Leo Wigdorchik since age eleven. Strong dedication,
hard work and passion are required to reach Dasol's level of
musicianship. Every weekend she travels to Rochester, New York to take
violin lessons at the world-renowned, well respected, and prestigious

recorded with us for the competition's pre-screening. If she is
selected as a finalist, Dasol will travel to South Korea and

Cortez Lewis
October 9th 2008
We would like to introduce the latest student at the Cherry Beach
School of Music His name is Cortez Lewis, and he is a dancer, an
athlete and a budding drummer. This student also happens to be only
four years old! Cortez has recently been taking drum lessons, and is
already showing excellent promise.
Cortez
seems to have a natural inclination for all things with a rhythm. He
has been taking lessons outside of the Cherry Beach School of Music in
tae kwon do, and two genres of dance: jazz and tap. While in class,
Cortez learns the proper steps, but when he gets home he is known to
wildly improvise in his tap shoes on the hard wood floor. As he began
exploring all these different rhythmic forms, drum lessons seemed to
follow the natural path he was already heading down. With the help of
his immensely supportive and encouraging family, Cortez was enrolled in
the Cherry Beach School of Music.
Cortez
has built confidence and learned elements of discipline through his
classes outside of our facility. At the Cherry Beach School of Music,
we will continue to build his confidence and discipline levels, but
also focus on the freedom of creativity.
At
the age of two, Cortez was given his very first drum kit. He has always
been encouraged to try new things and find out what he's good at and
what he truly does best. By exposing him to all these wonderful,
diverse fields, he will now have a broad path throughout life that he
can follow however he so chooses.
September 29th 2008
We were happy to welcome Toronto R&B/Hip Hop and TV sensation "Drake" to the studio where he completed selected tracks for "Young Money Entertainment", founded by New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne. who contributed their own vocals to the project. The album is currently

years old; penning lyrics for many up and coming R&B singers. He
has worked with Cash Money Records, TVT Records, BMG, and has featured
on tracks for producers Mike City, Neek Rusher, and Brian Cox.
Dubbed
the Prince of R&B, Trey Songz solidified his following when he
released his much-anticipated, "Trey Day," last October. Spawning such
hits as "Can't Help but Wait" and "Wonder Woman," "Trey Day" debuted at
number 11 on the Billboard charts and has since garnered him a
nomination for a BET Award for Best Male R&B Artist.
